2013 Mercedes SL 65 AMG - New York debut
Mercedes-Benz has confirmed the 2013 Mercedes SL 65 AMG as the new SL range-topper and its debut at the New York Autro Show. It had seemed that the V12 Mercedes SL 65 AMG would be a victim of the culling of V12 engines from car makers’ ranges as the imperative to cut emissions and reduce fuel consumption saw the glorious V12s replaced by smaller forced-induction engines. But not at Mercedes-Benz.

The online seminar was especially relevant for design engineers (from aerospace and consumer product industries as well as automotive), for surface modelers, and for lead designers who need to understand the differences between concept surfacing and Class A surfacing. General Motors has pitched the Corvette into the price stratosphere by announcing that the 206mph ZR1 will retail at an eye-watering £109,000 in the UK. It may be the fastest car ever built by GM, but the new 'Vette now enters big-time supercar territory, where it will need to have the quality to match its ballistic performance. The outrageous price tag is the biggest shock since we found out how genuinely brilliant the ZR1 is to drive.
